WiFi Range & Extender Calculator
Estimate coverage, signal quality and recommended extender placement using published product specifications.
What is RSSI (dBm)?
RSSI is received radio signal power. Wi-Fi readings are normally negative: a value closer to 0 dBm is stronger. For example, -45 dBm is stronger than -75 dBm. dBm is logarithmic, so a 10 dB change represents about a tenfold change in power.

RSSI is not internet speed. Throughput also depends on modulation, channel width, interference, client capability and network load.
Planning estimator only. Manufacturer coverage figures are maximum/test-condition values, not guaranteed real-world range. Where a manufacturer does not publish a fixed area figure, the product is marked as planning-based and the admin can enter an appropriate value.
