Typical Hanging Guidelines

  • Artwork center: commonly around 145–155 cm above finished floor.
  • Above furniture: commonly leave about 15–25 cm from furniture top to artwork bottom.
  • Gallery spacing: 5–10 cm is a common starting range.
  • Keep the visual center of a gallery group near eye level.

Nail Planning Formula

Nail height = frame bottom + frame height − hook/wire drop.

Measure from the finished floor, not from the skirting board, when setting the final elevation.
